Saturday August 13th was the grand opening of OTM Fight Shop at their new location in Torrance, Ca. On hand were Eddie Bravo, Phil Davis, Joker Guymon, Mac Danzig, Lorenz Larkin, Sofia Bagherdai, Kim Couture, and Gabe Ruediger, and a handfull of other fighters, plus a ton of fans from all over So.Cal. Cris Cyborg was scheduled to appear, but had to bow out due to a seminar she was offered at the last minute. As she is currently unemployed, (if you are not aware, she has not renewed her StrikeForce contract, nor signed with another promotion as of this writing) we can’t fault her for paying the bills. MMA Rants Today was there along with Tri-Coasta.comhanging out and enjoying the festivities. If you are unfamiliar, OTM is one of the best and longest running Fight shops in the industry, previously in Redondo Beach (home to several current MMA stars and legends), OTM has several locations and a longstanding history with the sport. I’ve been to the old shop a few times, everyone that works there is always helpful and informative, if you need some gear or just a cool shirt, it’s the place to go in the South Bay.The event was full of fun, with Sinister Loco Radio broadcasting live, TFA putting on live sparring in a regulation cage, booths from MMA clothing companies, raffles and contests for a ton of free gear. The UFC Gym was there raffling off 1 year passes to the new Torrance location. The new gym looks pretty awesome, it’s something like 20,000 sq. feet and has weights and MMA training. The cage was pretty cool, with live sparring going on throughout the day by TFA fighters. We had a good time, met some great people and look forward to seeing everyone again.Thank you to Michelle Lee from Tri-Coasta clothing, Danny and Carol from Danny Lee Photography, Stanley and Svetlana Day from Criscyborg.com (also Cris’s management along with Kim Couture and Sofia Bagherdai amongst others)
